About Us
Who are we?
The Earlsdon WI are a new group, formed in June 2010 and based in the Earlsdon area of Coventry.
Why were we formed?
The group was formed after finding out that there there was not a WI in the local area, with the nearest meetings being in Allesley Village or Stoneleigh.
The current economic climate has done much to make women think more favourably about good old-fashioned community spirit over a cup of tea and general female camaraderie. Earlsdon W.I, relish the idea of creating a greater sense of community, embracing the make-do-and mend concept whilst enjoying the company of like minded women, rediscovering what our grandmothers and mothers used to do as part of everyday life, practical homely activities. We offer opportunity to learn some traditional skills and pick up some tricks of the home-making trade that you may not have previously encountered, away from the stresses of home and children, some time just for you. Education, opportunities, support and above all friendship and fun. Do you really need a better reason to join? If you share our enthusiasm, then Earlsdon W.I. is well placed to look after your needs, and it’s not just for women of a certain age, the Earlsdon W.I. is embracing a new image for modern women.
Earlsdon W.I. is a member of the West Midlands Federation .
